CLIFFORD HALL
(1904-1973)

Biography
A London born painter, Hall studied at Richmond Art School and Putney Art School from 1922-25, and at the Royal Academy Schools from 1926-27. Immediately after his London studies he lived and worked in Paris under the great painter Andre Lhote.

He held his first solo exhibition at Therese Lessore's Beaux Arts Gallery in 1935. Hall exhibited regularly at Roland, Browse and Delbanco after the war and later at the Anthony d'Offay Gallery. The contents of his studio were Sorry - this work is sold at auction in London after his death, consequently his work regularly appears at auction and in commercial art galleries.

He is represented in Bradford City Art Gallery, the V & A Museum, the Imperial War Museum and elsewhere.
